How to Find Customers For Your Detailing Business

Running a detailing business can be quite challenging. Most detailers begin to tend to focus only on becoming better at their craft or purchasing new tools. As a business, you have to have your focus on advertising and marketing. This will drive sales to build your business.

Here's what you can do to find more customers:

1. Ask friends and family: this is how you are most likely going to start. The smartest and cheapest way to get more clients is to work outside where others can see you washing cars.

I've had a lot of people come up to me and say "my car next!" This is your opportunity to gain a new client and ask for their business. You have to be prepared and know your prices and be confident in them. The worst thing that can happen is a potential customer asks your price and you don't know it.

2. Use Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook Groups:

This will require either time or capital. To avoid having to pay for advertisements, you will want to try to gain attention through social networks. Your goal is to create Instagram Reels and TikToks to grow your account organically. This means to be discovered through the algorithm or search without having to pay.

A strategy I have been using on Instagram and TikTok is by making satisfying quick clips cleaning vehicles. This can be cleaning a door panel, vacumming carpets, buffing paint, rinsing off soap, etc.

People enjoy watching these clips and in return will follow you. This can help gain word of mouth about your business.

You may also be able to pay and sponsor local Facebook Groups. There are also Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook Ads you can do. I'll keep this subject to another post as it is an intricate subject.

3. Create a Google Listing:

Another organic way you can find business is to create a Local Google Business Listing. You can search on how to do this. It is quite an easy thing to do. A good website, Facebook reviews, and Yelp will help to drive more business and trust as well.

I hope these tips helped you! Thanks for reading.

We started our mobile car detailing company not too long ago, and it was good timing that we found this article. It looks like as professionals we need to be using every form of social media and use both short-form and long-form content to maximize our chances of finding customers.

Thanks a ton for these tips!

Really appreciate you taking the time to break down key strategies for those who are just starting out. I think we’ll start experimenting with both short-form and long-form content with TikTok and YouTube respectively and see how it attracts customers in our market.
